This site was created because I was once in thousands of dollars of credit debt and had zero savings, much like most Americans. I credit two things with my current debt free state: changes in spending habits, and an excel spreadsheet my wife, who has a degree in finance, created for me.

A Few New Things December 26th, 2011
A few new features have launched for Boxing Day! There is now a "Search" tab where you can search for Transactions (by description or category).
There's also a new report for Plus users, letting you see graphically your percentage of expenses by month:

Mobile Apps! Sep. 20th, 2011
Some of you may have noticed that our iPhone app has disappeared from the App Store. Don't worry, we have an even better version available now for iPhone, in fact it works on all smart phone platforms! Just point your browser at http://m.budgetsimple.com and you'll get the more powerful, smart phone optimized version of BudgetSimple
Android users can also find an app in the Android marketplace, it's essentially the same thing but wrapped in an app for those who prefer it that way.

- Is this thing free? What's the catch?
BudgetSimple is 100% free. You do not need to give any information that will identify you personally. This product was designed to help people get out of debt and save more. If we can get just one person to accomplish this, then it is worth it.
- What do you do with my data?
Nothing! Your data is your data alone. We will never snoop through your finances or reveal them to any third parties.
- I forgot my username/password, what do I do?
No problem, just reset your password and you'll be back in business.
