Entering Income and Expenses
When you login to BudgetSimple, your budget will be displayed. To enter a new expense, select a category from the drop down, enter the dollar amount and click "Add Expense"
The month and the year at the top are the month and year of the budget you are viewing. By default you will see the current month's budget. To view past budgets, change the date.
In the main budget spreadsheet you will see the category on the far left, then the amount budgeted, the amount spent, and finally the difference between the amount you budgeted and the amount you spent. Red numbers mean you went over your budget (bad), green numbers mean you are below your budget (good).
If you click the "income" button you'll see your budgeted income. Unlike expenses, by default BudgetSimple will assume your actual income is the same as what you budgeted. If the actual income is different, you can edit it directly and save.
The "graphs" tab shows you graphically how your money is spent this month, and how your income and expenses have related to each other for the past few months.
